1. Acceptance of Terms

By enrolling in programs at Massage Life Academy ("Academy," "we," "us," or "our"), using our website massagelifeacademy.com, or booking student massage services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Educational Services

Massage Life Academy provides massage therapy education leading to professional licensure. Our program includes classroom instruction, hands-on training, and supervised clinical practice. The program is designed to be completed in 34 weeks with classes held Monday through Thursday.

We reserve the right to modify curriculum, schedules, and program requirements to maintain compliance with state licensing requirements and educational standards.

3. Admission Requirements

To be admitted, applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Hold a high school diploma or GED certificate
  • Pass a criminal background check (minor violations may be acceptable)
  • Demonstrate ability to pay tuition or qualify for financial aid
  • Complete the application process and attend a school tour

We reserve the right to deny admission to any applicant who does not meet our requirements or who we determine would not be a good fit for our program.

4. Enrollment and Enrollment Agreement

Enrollment is formalized through a signed enrollment agreement that specifies program details, tuition costs, payment terms, and student obligations. The enrollment agreement is a binding contract that governs your relationship with the Academy.

Your enrollment is subject to space availability. We maintain small class sizes (4-8 students) to ensure quality instruction.

5. Tuition and Fees

  • Payment: Tuition and fees are specified in your enrollment agreement. Payment is due according to the terms of your agreement, which may include upfront payment, payment plans, or financial aid arrangements.
  • Late Payments: Late payments may result in holds on your account, preventing access to classes and services. Continued non-payment may result in dismissal from the program.
  • Refunds: Refund policies are outlined in your enrollment agreement and comply with state regulations. Generally, refunds are available within a specified period after enrollment begins, with the amount prorated based on completed instruction.
  • Additional Costs:Students are responsible for purchasing required textbooks, supplies, and liability insurance as specified in the enrollment agreement.

6. Financial Aid

We offer various financial aid options including grants, scholarships, payment plans, and low-interest loans. Financial aid is subject to qualification requirements and availability. Students receiving financial aid must maintain satisfactory academic progress and comply with all program requirements.

7. Academic Standards and Student Conduct

  • Attendance: Regular attendance is required. Excessive absences may result in dismissal from the program. Students must notify the Academy of any absences.
  • Academic Performance:Students must maintain satisfactory grades and successfully complete all required coursework, practical assessments, and clinical hours.
  • Professional Conduct: Students must conduct themselves professionally and ethically at all times. This includes respecting instructors, fellow students, and clinic clients.
  • Grounds for Dismissal: Students may be dismissed for academic failure, excessive absences, unprofessional conduct, violation of policies, non-payment of tuition, or other serious infractions.

8. Certification and Licensure

Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive a certificate of completion. This certificate is necessary for applying for state licensure as a massage therapist.

The Academy does not guarantee licensure. Students are responsible for meeting all state requirements for licensure, including passing any required examinations and background checks.

9. Student Massage Clinic Services

Students provide supervised massage services to the public as part of their clinical training. Clients booking student massages acknowledge that:

  • Services are performed by students under instructor supervision
  • Students are learning and developing their skills
  • Appointments may take longer than professional services
  • All services are educational in nature

Clients must complete health intake forms and disclose any medical conditions relevant to massage therapy. The Academy reserves the right to refuse service to any client if contraindications exist or if the client's needs exceed student training levels.

10. Health and Safety

Students and massage clients must follow all health and safety protocols. This includes reporting any health conditions that may affect participation, following sanitation procedures, and complying with any applicable public health requirements.

The Academy is not liable for health complications arising from undisclosed medical conditions or failure to follow recommended precautions.

11. Liability and Insurance

Students are required to maintain professional liability insurance as specified in the enrollment agreement. The Academy maintains general liability insurance for its operations.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE ACADEMY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR ENROLLMENT OR USE OF SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT OF TUITION YOU HAVE PAID.

12. Intellectual Property

All course materials, curriculum content, and instructional resources are the intellectual property of Massage Life Academy. Students may not reproduce, distribute, or use these materials outside of their educational purposes without written permission.

13. Photography and Marketing

The Academy may photograph or video record classes, events, and student activities for marketing and promotional purposes. By enrolling, you consent to such recordings unless you notify us in writing of your objection.

14. Website Use

You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes. You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access, interfere with website operations, or use the website in any harmful manner.

15. Third-Party Booking Services

Student massage appointments are booked through a third-party platform (Booker). Your use of the booking platform is subject to their terms of service and privacy policy.

16. Withdrawal and Cancellation

Students may withdraw from the program at any time by providing written notice. Refunds, if applicable, will be calculated according to the refund policy in your enrollment agreement and state regulations.

The Academy reserves the right to cancel classes or programs due to low enrollment, instructor unavailability, or other circumstances. In such cases, enrolled students will receive a full refund or be offered enrollment in the next available session.

17. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in Davis County, Utah, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

Either party may seek injunctive relief in court to prevent irreparable harm.

18. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated date. Material changes affecting enrolled students will be communicated directly.
