I always knew I wanted to help people in a different approach to the medical field, especially growing up with a dad that was an MD. He was different from most doctors, he used herbs and acupuncture. I knew I was meant for an alternative as well. I was also intrigued with the brain and how it works both psychologically and physically which led me to massage school and craniosacral therapy. I learned in school that massage therapy is so much more than just feeling good but a way to facilitate and help the body’s natural way of healing.

Years later I was experiencing a great deal of stress, and my doctor strongly encouraged some life changes. I was gifted a massage by my brother. Halfway through the massage I asked the massage therapist how stressful his job was. I enrolled in massage school that day.

It’s a long story… Basically, I really disliked receiving massage but went along to appointments with my partner at the time. See, I’m an abuse survivor so I really didn’t like being touched. I kept going to female therapists because of my past, but one day my only option was a male therapist. I was terrified, but everyone there told me he was amazing and trustworthy, so I decided to do the massage. Long story short, I loved it. After a few sessions with him, I started to ask questions. I had worked in the medical field and was in nursing school at the time, but because of how this one therapist helped me so much in just a few sessions I felt called to massage. I went and toured UCMT and signed up on the spot. Throughout school I continued to heal my past traumas and really start to love and find myself. Massage school was the best thing I ever did for myself. My first teacher wrote this quote in my graduation book: “Life happens at the edge of your comfort zone.” I have been safe and working on me ever since. I get to help others every day and that is the best blessing one can ask for in a “job.”

What are you passionate about? What are your specialties?
I love to work with athletes. I provide a medium to deep, relaxing massage. It’s also very productive, affecting the deep tissue. I feel lighter than I am because I move slowly, but I’m very meticulous. Working the trigger points and lymph system along the way. My massage is best described as athletic recovery massage.
What is your favorite treatment and what do you enjoy most about it?
Honestly, pretty much anything the aestheticians offer. I love receiving facials and feeling confident in my own skin. As for something I love to offer… giving treatments with Himalayan salt stones, they’re my favorite enhancement to supplement my style of massage.
What is your favorite way to unwind after a busy day?
Walk and snuggle my dog.
