FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Find answers here or call or text us at 801-600-7717

The total cost of our program is $6,500. This includes everything you need to become a licensed Massage Therapist in Utah except for your MBLEx test ($265) and state fees ($80) which are not included.

You'll need $1,000 for registration, books, uniforms, supplies, and memberships when you enroll. After that, you'll pay tuition in monthly payments while attending school. Payments range from $350-$550 per month depending on grants and scholarships. You'll also need to plan on gas, snacks and incidentals. When you graduate, plan on paying $265 for your MBLEx test and $80 for state licensing fees.

You will need savings, family support, or a job to attend school. If you don't have these, we can help you get a loan--but loans should always be used as the last option.

Most students qualify. There is no cost or obligation and it only takes a few minutes to apply. Take the next step!

Yes. You save 10% of your total tuition if you pay your entire balance early when you enroll. That's a savings of up to $500 or more!

That's what deferments are for. If you start to fall behind due to illness, job changes, or other legitimate reasons, we are happy to defer payments to a later date without interest or penalties. Late payments are subject to fees, interest, and even expulsion. DON'T let that happen! Contact us for a deferment before missing a payment.

Yes. If you change your mind, you may be eligible for a full or partial refund depending on the timing of your withdrawal.

  • Registration fee: Fully refundable within 3 days of payment; nonrefundable after that.
  • Books, uniforms, supplies, and memberships: Fully refundable if returned unused and in new condition.
  • Tuition: Fully refundable before classes begin. Once classes start, tuition may be refunded on a prorated basis. You are responsible for tuition corresponding to the portion of the program attended prior to withdrawal.

Don’t worry—we’ll work with you! Many employers provide signing bonuses or tuition reimbursement that can help pay off any remaining balance. If needed, a small loan can also be an option. It’s often much easier to handle a small balance after graduation than to take on a large student loan at the start.

Our graduates tell us it's difficult, but 100% of them have graduated and become licensed massage therapists. You can do it too! We have experienced instructors, many resources, and free tutoring for all students.

At Massage Life Academy, our small class sizes of just 3–8 students ensure you get personalized, hands-on training and direct feedback from expert instructors. This intimate setting allows for deeper learning, stronger connections, and faster skill mastery. You’ll never feel lost in the crowd—just supported, seen, and set up for success.

After completing our massage program and paying all fees, you'll receive a certificate of completion and diploma that allows you to take the MBLEx (Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination). After passing the exam and paying Utah State licensing fees ($80), you receive your Utah Massage Therapist License. This allows you to begin offering services, charging for services, and accepting tips.

Here’s what the data says for Utah in 2025:

  • Indeed reports the average for massage therapists in Utah is about $37.18/hour Indeed
  • ZipRecruiter reports the average for licensed massage therapists in Utah is about $33.99/hour ZipRecruiter
  • CompTool (aggregating job listings) says average base pay is about $57,850/year, with upper ranges going to ~$82,000+ CompTool

Keep in mind that the above data does not include tips which adds another $20/hour of tax-free income on average, making massage therapists one of the best paying jobs in Utah!
